Gateway Decks, a locally owned and operated deck building and resurfacing company serving the North Georgia area, is seeking an experienced Trex Composite Decking Installer to join our team as an independent contractor. You will build and resurface decks using Trex composite decking and railing systems, with the precise, detail-oriented craftsmanship that composite work demands, including picture-frame borders, hidden fasteners, and finished edge details.
Responsibilities
- Install Trex composite decking, fascia, and railing systems per project plans
- Work with hidden fastener systems and produce clean, finished results
- Build picture-frame borders, stairs, and custom detail work
- Read and work from project drawings and material lists
- Ensure work meets local building codes and manufacturer installation guidelines
- Maintain a clean, safe job site and communicate progress with the project manager
Requirements
- 2+ years of deck building experience, with composite installation experience preferred
- Strong finish carpentry skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with hidden fastener systems and composite installation best practices
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Must provide your own tools and transportation to job sites
- Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States
- Able to perform physical labor outdoors in varying weather, including lifting 50 to 75 lbs, bending, kneeling, and climbing
Position Details
- 1099 independent contractor position, paid per project or by agreed rate
- Contractor carries their own general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage, or a valid state exemption
- Contractor provides their own tools, equipment, and transportation
