Gateway Decks, a locally owned and operated deck building and resurfacing company serving the North Georgia area, is seeking a skilled Pressure-Treated Decking Installer to build and resurface decks as an independent contractor. You will construct and resurface decks using premium pressure-treated lumber, including framing, decking, stairs, and railings, delivering the quality craftsmanship our customers expect.
Responsibilities
- Build and resurface decks using pressure-treated lumber per project plans
- Frame substructures and install decking boards, stairs, and railing systems
- Read and work from project drawings and material lists
- Ensure work meets local building codes and safety standards
- Maintain a clean, safe job site and communicate progress with the project manager
Requirements
- 2+ years of deck building or finish carpentry experience
- Proficiency with standard carpentry and power tools
- Knowledge of deck framing, fastening, and railing installation
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Must provide your own tools and transportation to job sites
- Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States
- Able to perform physical labor outdoors in varying weather, including lifting 50 to 75 lbs, bending, kneeling, and climbing
Position Details
- 1099 independent contractor position, paid per project or by agreed rate
- Contractor carries their own general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage, or a valid state exemption
- Contractor provides their own tools, equipment, and transportation
