Custom Trex Deck with Built-In Flower Beds Cumming, Georgia

Every great deck starts with a conversation. This client came to us with a clear picture already in mind: an outdoor living space that made room for their garden instead of pushing it out to the edges. We worked through the design with them and built custom flower beds directly into the deck structure, tucked in alongside the stairs where they anchor the space and soften the transition from house to yard.

For the decking itself, we used Trex Toasted Sand across the field boards. It is a warm, light neutral that keeps the deck from feeling heavy and works well against the home's exterior. To define the edges, we ran a picture frame border in Trex Cinnamon Cove. That deeper tone outlines every stair tread and platform, and that single detail is what gives the finished deck its elevated, polished look.

The client finished the look with Trex Select railing in black. The dark powder-coated posts and balusters keep the sightlines open to the wooded backyard while tying into the trim on the house.

Cascading stairs, built-in planters, and a two-tone picture frame layout: none of this comes out of a catalog. It came out of listening to what the client wanted and then building it.
